Interdisciplinary" Music Planting" : Painting a Tree by Playing the Piano

Professor Ying Kwang-I from the Department of Music and Professor Cheng Chi-Cheng from the Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering developed an interdisciplinary "music painting" algorithm. The algorithm detects sound parameters, such as frequency, amplitude, and intensity and converts sounds into visual points, lines, and planes. When music is played, the animation is synchronized with the sounds originating from the instrument to combine music with the painting. This interdisciplinary collaboration is expected to be used in the fields of interactive games, medical rehabilitation, and art therapy.
